NOW Conference

I am working my way through the web looking for examples of wikis to share with participants in my workshop and online session. If you have seen a good example of a class wiki, student wiki, teacher wiki or school wiki.....or even one that does things just that little bit differently.....I'd love to hear about it. Drop me a line or 2 here and add a link to your examples.
Thanks,
Deb

Any WIKI with a LOTE focus is a good Wiki. ( in general) Why...well there's seems to be a lack of good Wiki resources around in relation to LOTE. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong The following is a good one for me

Thanks Rob. It's a good link. I've often found there are some very innovative LOTE teachers out there and they have created some good online resources. Some of these I have collected in my delicious account. Have a look at some of these web sites,

Hi Deb,

Here's a couple of student based wikis that I have worked with that might be of interest. Envirokidz is a wiki developed by a group of gr 3-6 students related to the school ground. Another is a story based wiki called Terry The Tennis Ball that my grade 3-4 students worked on during the last term of 2006.

A science teaching colleague is also using a wiki to house information about using ICT in Science.

I've taken to using wikis as the reference point for my conference and other PD sessions. That way I can easily update it, (even at the last minute). I can also navigate the presentation in any way that I or, even more importantly, the audience want to take it. Apart from that it's also relatively easy to embed all manner of content into the presentation. Finally it means that participants get to access all of the content whenever and wherever they are. A couple of these are Digistories, WebSafety4 Kids, and Blogs etc.

Hi Deb,

My wiki (my first and only at this stage) is not wonderful. It's not even a sharing ground because I'm having some difficulty getting anybody to look at it. It's an art wiki at my school which is a boys' seconday school in Melbourne. I have a couple of teachers looking at it. Currently it's just a storage for links. I'm still thinking about how to make it look better. For what it's worth, here's the link to it:

Hi Tania,
Thanks for the link to your wiki. What a great start! I 'm planning to put together a wiki to support my session and will put a link to your art wiki.....I hope you don't mind. It's great to see how versatile wiki's can be and you have put lots of resources there to support the secondary art curriculum. Thanks again,
Deb

Hi John,
Thanks for you wiki sites. I have followed your work for a while. I love the student based wiki's, they really enjoy using web 2.0 tools as a part of their work. I agree with your idea for using wiki's as a support for your PD sessions. I have found this a very useful way to share resources with participants long after the initial session. I will add your wiki links to my session wiki, they will help teachers new to wiki's to make a start.
Cheers,
Deb

Deb, I'm more than happy for you or anyone else to link to the wiki. That's what it's for, and I welcome people using it or adding to it. Thanks.
